Welcome to 'Of the Coast'

Creating an online shop was not in my 2024 bingo card, yet here we are! 

In all honesty, I was never much of a bookmark kind of person. The irony, I knowwwwww. I actually always just folded book pages to mark my spot. However, I got a library card at the beginning of summer and just felt icky folding books that were not mine. This led me to use random scraps of papers, which was fine until I decided I wanted something to look cute with my books. 

I never thought I'd be picky about my bookmarks until I was second guessing myself at Barnes and Noble... for like 30 minutes. For some reason, it was crucial that I purchased the perfect bookmark. Spoiler, I never bought a bookmark. 

Pinterest became my go-to digital escape after I decided one day to delete Instagram, Tiktok, and Snapchat lol. So, I naturally began searching for "cute bookmarks" and 'lo and behold, I discovered the cuteness of charmed bookmarks! 

I did not find any that had my name written all over it so of course I took myself to the happiest place on Earth...Michael's!

One bookmark led to another which led to me gifting them to anyone in my life that had a birthday. I instantly became obsessed with creating these bookmarks and manifesting my visions into an actual product. I had the urge to share these with more people and well, I decided to create my online shop.

I've been having so much fun with creating my brand from scratch. I can definitely share more about that experience in another blog post. For now, I just wanted to share with you my 'why'.
